List of Speaking Topics:

Plant Care: The 5 Must Do’s for Growth Success – Why is this so important? Because it doesn’t make sense to lose healthy plants in your container gardens from lack of appropriate care, and it is not complicated once you see Cathy T’s 5 Must Do’s for Growth Success talk and demo. This talk is by far the most popular with audiences; they want to know how to succeed and it is simple once you hear the tips and ‘whys’ by Container Crazy CT. And new in 2016 is information on new renewable sources for potting media.

Design Care: The 6 Design Tips – Designing and selecting plant combinations that wow your family and friends doesn’t have to be complicated. Cathy Testa shares 6 design tips on what has worked really well with her combinations and the design tips which make the composition successful from a design standpoint. This talk is usually a Part II presentation of the part I of the 5 Must Do’s for Growth Success, which by the way, includes things you should not do too. The design tips presentation will also touch upon 2017 gardening trends you should know about!

The Tools: How to Design Using Some Unconventional Tools – Do you know which tools you have available to you to create amazing and stunning container gardens and patio pots?  Cathy Testa shares tools you may not be aware of and how to use them to maximize your own inner designer intuition to create design compositions for your containers. Many are part of our social and web world today – Don’t be left behind, learn about them and how to embrace them.

The Placement: How to Place Container Gardens in the Garden – Pots and Containers definitely enhance your outdoor living space, are easy, and fast to put together, and may also be used in a variety of ways in your garden as focal points, design elements – even functional art. This talk discusses how you can use pots and containers to enhance the scene and correlates to the Six Principles of Great Design. Outdoor spaces are superbly popular today – everyone wants to enhance their outdoor and “indoor” surroundings and extend the use of their spaces indoors and out – learn how to maximize decor and pots together outdoors.

The Plants: A Plant Review of Container Garden plants utilized by Cathy Testa from past to present – Nothing works better than true experience, and in this talk, Cathy Testa previews many plants she has ordered from local Connecticut growers and used for container garden, what worked really well – and what didn’t. Learn what happened to them, how they grew in container gardens and patio pots, why you should use them – from tropicals, succulents, and perennials used in containers. This talk will share sources, plants lists, and resources too.

Extending the Season: How do you make container gardens last into late fall, and how to dress them up during the winter season when you can’t use live plants due to the weather conditions of winter.  Learn how Cathy Testa has developed some creative ideas, tips and tricks, and the tools she used to make container gardens last or change for seasonal events. This talks includes how to overwinter tropical and perennial plants from container gardens to reuse every season. Learn the tips and hands-on how to’s by Container Crazy CT. We hope to hear from you soon.
